About Salerno

Salerno is an ancient city and municipality in Campania, southwestern Italy, and is the capital of the namesake province, being the second largest city in the region by number of inhabitants, after Naples. It is located on the Gulf of Salerno on the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Steeped in history and bathed in sunshine, Salerno is a gem on Italy's southern coast. Founded before Roman times, it boasts a rich past, evident in its medieval center and imposing hilltop castle. This vibrant city is a popular starting point for exploring the Amalfi Coast, but also offers a charming seaside promenade, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere.
